“I try to find the middle ground between a child-like appeal and good traditional brushwork and I think I am succeeding.”

Paul was very young when he first started learning to draw, his interest continued throughout school, and after he left school he applied to art college and was accepted but in the end turned it down.

History and Background

For the next 13 years, Paul worked in the aerospace industry, continuing to paint in the evenings, becoming a very accomplished airbrush artist selling paintings all over the world.

During these years Paul met his wife, Sara. Turmoil encompassed their lives when his wife was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder causing her to have several miscarriages. After coming off medication that made the birth of their first child possible, Sara suffered a massive stroke. Paul accepted that he would never become an artist, presuming Sara would be permanently disabled. Astonishingly after five weeks she made a full recovery and was back home.

In 2002 Paul embarked on painting solidly for the next year after taking voluntary redundancy. Here his passion for photorealism took over and his paintings became highly detailed before experimenting with his now renowned style.
